Sams Engineering is a structural engineering firm that specializes in building design.

We work to build relationships with our clients and provide a high level of attention to every project. We first went into business with the specific goal to treat each client and project as though they were our only project.

Sams Engineering offers a wide range of structural design and engineering services to architects, owners, and contractors.  We take pride in developing high-quality construction documents, leveraging 3D modeling technology and incorporating this technology throughout the design process.

Aggregate pier foundation/site improvement, composite steel/concrete first floor with concrete shear walls, and pre-engineered metal building roof structure.  This project was constructed on what was determined to be a pre-existing pond.  Soils were improved with aggregate piers.  Features a long-spanning (38 feet) floor system supporting an indoor children's playground.  Construction completion anticipated for Fall 2018.  Rendering by Deco Architects.

PRESS PIT

This project included the design of a large press pit foundation. This has been a challenging project that included the shoring (temporary support) of undermined caissons each carrying about 180,000 lbs. The pit excavation is some 32 feet deep into bedrock—all within an existing operational factory.  The new press that will sit atop this foundation weighs in at approximately 2-million pounds.
